This is what happens when you have a clear idea of what you want your brand to convey: it simply works, it simplifies the decision taking, any designer can just read the manual, and consistently bring up a brand that is filled with the heart and soul of what you once intended it to be.
This is what happened with Hacienda del Río. Initially they wanted "just a logo", but they were open to ideas, so I brought forward an entire brand concept for them and they said YES. Working with them has been wonderful, over the years we take some risks, tweak some things, try others, however the heart and soul keep being there.
I remember one day I was taking these pictures for them and it was supposed to be a sunny afternoon (like all the afternoons in Zacapa!) and the clouds did their thing, we couldn't really reschedule, but we remembered the brand messaging feel: "Un sueño de verano" (a Summer's Dream)... from then on the afternoon went smooth, we knew how to adapt because we had a concept to follow.
